Want a fair place, listen to Him

The way to heaven, if we would be happy, we must be holy. We are encouraged to walk in that way. - Here is a very serious question concerning the character of a citizen of Zion. It is the happiness of glorified saints, that they dwell in the holy hill; they are at home there, they shall be for ever there. It concerns us to make it sure to ourselves that we have a place among them. A very plain and particular answer is here given. Those who desire to know their duty, will find the Scripture a very faithful director, and conscience a faithful monitor. A citizen of Zion is sincere in his religion. He is really what he professes to be, and endeavors to stand complete in all the will of God. He is just both to God and man; and, in speaking to both, speaks the truth in his heart. He scorns and abhors wrong and fraud; he cannot reckon that a good bargain, nor a saving one, which is made with a lie; and knows that he who wrongs his neighbor will prove, in the end, to have most injured himself. He is very careful to do hurt to no man. He speaks evil of no man, makes not others' faults the matter of his common talk; he makes the best of every body, and the worst of nobody. If an ill-natured story be told him, he will disprove it if he can; if not, it goes no further. He values men by their virtue and piety. Wicked people are vile people, worthless, and good for nothing; so the word signifies. He thinks the worse of no man's piety for his poverty and mean condition. He reckons that serious piety puts honor upon a man, more than wealth, or a great name. He honors such, desires their conversation and an interest in their prayers, is glad to show them respect, or do them a kindness. By this we may judge of ourselves in some measure. Even wise and good men may swear to their own hurt: but see how strong the obligation is, a man must rather suffer loss to himself and his family, than wrong his neighbor. He will not increase his estate by extortion, or by bribery. He will not, for any gain, or hope of it to himself, do any thing to hurt a righteous cause. Every true living member of the church, like the church itself, is built upon a Rock. He that does these things shall not be moved for ever. The grace of God shall always be sufficient for him. The union of these tempers and this conduct, can only spring from repentance for sin, faith in the Savior, and love to him. In these respects let us examine and prove our own selves.

¹ Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent?
    Who may live on your holy mountain?

    who does what is righteous,
    who speaks the truth from their heart;
³ whose tongue utters no slander,

Why the South became Republican?

If we read history books that was written before changing history. The Democratic party was the party of slavery.  The Democratic party wanted slavery and the Republican party wanted blacks to be free.
The democrats were the Confederacy and the Republicans were the Union. Jim Crow's Democrats were in the South and tolerant Republicans were in the north. 
You have had that in the 1960's and 70's that everything flipped. A common thought is that the Republicans became the racists and the Democrats became the champs of the the civil rights.
The people on the left side of the political systems said that the Republicans could only won by appealing to the worst and the face of this idea according to the media was Nixon. This was called the Southern Strategy. It was very simply, winning the South by appealing to the racist.
Now according to the media, they forget that Lincoln freed the slaves and he was a Republican. Now the media labeled the Republicans that party of rednecks.
This story of the two party switching identities  is a myth. I will talk about the three myths that are trapped into this lie.
The first myth is in order to be competitive in the South in the South, Republicans began to pander to White Racists in the 1960's.
I will say a fact. Republicans were competitive in the South in the year of 1928 because Republican Herbert Hoover won over 47 percent of the South's popular vote against Al Smith who was an Democrat.
Here is another really cool fact. Republican Dwight Eisenhower in 1952 won the Southern States of Tennessee, Florida, and Virginia. In the year of 1956, he won the states of Louisiana, Kentucky, and West Virginia. And this was after he supported the ruling on Brown and Board of Education that desegregated public schools. And after he sent forces down in Arkansas to make schools have desegregated schools.
I will talk about myth number two. Southern Democrats angry with the Civil Rights movement in 1964  switched parties.     
Here is a fact. Only one of the Democrats switched parties that was in the South. They were either voted in or replace by other Democrats.
Those 20 other seats didn't go Republican til two and half decades.
Myth number three is since the implementation of the Southern Strategy, the Republican has controlled the South.   
Here is a fact. Richard Nixon was the man that was supposed to be the man behind the Southern Strategy lost the deep South in 1968.
In the year of 1976, Jimmy Carter swept the South in that election.And this was after the Civil Rights Act in 1964.
In 1992, Bill Clinton won the state that were Georgia, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee,  Kentucky and West Virginia.
The truth is that the Republicans didn't hold a majority of Southern Congressional seats until 1994.
This was 30 years after the Civil Right Acts.
Kevin Williamson of the National Review said, "If Southern Democrats redneck switched parties because of the act in 1964, it is strange that they waited until the late 1980's and early 1990's to do so.
They say that things moves slower in the South but not that slow."
Why does the South vote mostly Republican now? The South has changed and it values has changed.
The racism that defines it are going away. The value of the South now days are Pro-life, Pro-gun and small government. 
They are many white voter that voted for a black person, they voted for Sen. Tim Scott in South Carolina who is black over a white liberal.
History moves on like other regions of the country, the South votes values not skin color.
The myth of the Southern Strategy is a smoke in mirror method to save face for losing the South.
And to slander the Republicans to call them racists.

Keeps on ticking

What keeps on ticking is time
We can't stop the next day
The aging process slows us down

Time makes women worried
Maybe it is the closing of the womb
Before having children

Time makes men worried
Maybe the idea of gray hair
Possible death around the corner

People are worried around the decay
This world will be no more
And there kingdom is only here

They say time is no friend
I disagree with that statement
But I still have regrets

Let me clarify my point if you may
God have given mankind free-will
I have not ran a perfect race

I missed chances so the perfect will didn't happen
But I can't cry over it
I must look forward and love Jesus

I may that you didn't buy that house
Now you can't buy it
Forget and learn from the past

We need to honor the Lord
Walk thru the doors needed
Life is tricky but God is cool

Perhaps something didn't happen
God was protecting you
So the time on earth would be better

The most important element
We have sinned
We need Jesus to forgive us

Are we good people?

I always hear in Podcast that we are good people. I used to think that mankind is good but then I realized that I was wrong. The Bible has convinced me that we are in deep trouble by ourselves without the Lord Jesus.
Psalm 14 explains the truth that many will refuse the truth and we are in this camp if we reject the Bible and Jesus.
When a person reads the first verse. It says, "The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good."
There are many people that are called fools in the Bible. They will promote that there is no God in science and in the public schools. They will then say that people are good but we steal from each other. Why do we lock our cars, if everyone is good? Have you ever thought you would never do something but you do it the next day?
I love verse two and three. They say, "The Lord looks down from heaven on all mankind
to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. All have turned away, all have become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one."
God looks down on this world and sees that mankind will not seek after Him without the Holy Spirit drawing that person.
Mankind has a sinful nature that will rebel against the Lord. I am breaking the myth of the good person.
Mankind kills people all the time and we can be murders in the right case.

I love verse four to six. They say, "Do all these evildoers know nothing? They devour my people as though eating bread; they never call on the Lord.  But there they are, overwhelmed with dread, for God is present in the company of the righteous. You evildoers frustrate the plans of the poor, but the Lord is their refuge."

There are people that hate the ideas of God and will do what they think is right. They will target Christians and the Jews because they hate God. They don't want any part of the Lord.

The good news is that God watches over His people and He is drawing all the Jews to Jesus.

In many countries, the Muslims will hurt and damage the Christian and the ghetto are full of Christians. The good news is that God is watching over them.

I will finish with verse seven. It says, "Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When the Lord restores his people, let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!"

If you hate poverty, you should love capitalism

We all hear people complain about capitalism and they will use the words, "Capitalism is all about greed." That person may have I am the 99% t-shirt.
I will share some facts to that person and anyone who wants to listen.
The percentage of people that are living in a global poverty rate has gone done 80% since 1970.
Before the year of 1970, one in every four people were living on a dollar per day.
If you want some really fact, there are one in every twenty people that live on a dollar a day.
This is a great achievement in mankind. How did this happened.
Do you think that the United Nations had a great policy? Was it the great amount of money in US Aid to other countries? Did it came from the International Monetary Fund? The World Bank?
Did it came from Stimulus Spending? Or maybe a popular idea like Governmental Retribution?
They are all great guesses but they are all wrong. It was capitalism.
Billions of people have got out of poverty because of capitalism.
I will have a list of five items. They are Globalization, Free Trade, Property Rights, the Rule of Law and Entrepreneurship.
Globalization is the ever-increasing ability to move goods, people, and ideas from one distant land to another.
Free Trade open access to market and people from all over the world.
Property Rights ensuring that what belongs to you can't be taken away from the government.
The Rule of Law safeguards contracts assuring they will be respected and live up to whether if you live in Mexico or Europe.
Entrepreneurship the creativity of free people to dream up new products to improve people lives.
If you read history, East Asia accepted these ideas after World War Two. It is because United States Global Diplomatic and Military presence.
The ideals of Free Enterprise and global leadership, central to Capitalism and American Conservatism.  These ideas are the reason that people are living better.
The United States has blessed many people and nations.
If these American Conservative Ideas has done so well, why do the ideas are not growing in the younger generation, people of every countries, minorities, people that want to help the poor?
The person from another country can say, "Unleash the power." The person that wants to help the poor can say, "on behalf of the weak."
The true story is that Capitalism  is not picking up new followers. Many people think that Capitalism will fade in the United States like it has in Europe.
Harvard study has said that the people that are 18-29 has a 40% favorable view on Capitalism.
What explains the great gap between the great results of Capitalism and it popularity?
Why does Capitalism have became a "curse word"?
The defender of Capitalism has done a bad job explaining the greatness of this idea so the younger generation don't know the whole story. They don't share that it has saved many people from not dying from not having food.
There is an survey that 84% of the people in the United States don't know that fact of the great progress that Capitalism has done to help the world.
Two thirds have a thought that it has gotten worst and that is not true.
If you compare the results from Capitalism to Communism or Socialism, Capitalism has done better. 
We need a system that works while we are sleeping, foundation of human prosperity.
More Capitalism means more growth.

Can we trust the heart

I always hear, "trust your heart"
Can we burst into life?
If we bury not our desires?

I will be honest, my friend
I followed my heart
Then I did a shameful thing

Many of men believed they are good
They say love your wife
Then they cheated on her

Many women say they are honest
Business came around
They compromised their value

Have you said this will not happen?
Then you do the dreadful thing
So your heart is really good?

Hitler thought he did right
When he killed many of the Jews
So we all can be Hitler if not careful 

What can we trust and follow?
Mankind will deceive each other by heart
The Lord can purify that place

There is no truth outside of Bible and God
We must align our lives to Jesus
Then greatness will occur

If we exclude Jesus then bad
Bad things will happen
Do you do this in your life?

Feeling that you are forgotten?

Have you felt that you are pointless and the world is walking on you? I have felt this way and you will read about the feeling that King David had. You can relate but we need to follow his path to the right direction.
Psalm 13 is for you, for all the people that feel distant and the politicians will not help you.
King David felt all alone so he want a song to the Lord and this could be the best song that ever been written.
Verse one says, "How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?"
David was living in a time when the Lord felt all alone. He was anointed king of Israel but the current king of that time was going to kill him so he felt like a wanted man. There are times when it seems the world will kill you and that God is near. God is always faithful and emotions can lie so if you feel this way, cry out to God.
Verse two says, "How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?"
David fought against sorrow in his heart. Life doesn't always seem fair and God want us to be honest. David was East Coast honest. God is big enough to handle our emotions. Tell God your sad emotions and there is the beginning of healing. 
It seemed that the people that wanted to kill was winning. Christians that live in a Muslim controlled or Buddhist controlled countries can be treated with a harsh hand and feel alone. They face death many times.
Even in the United States, the culture will attack Bible believing people and it is a cool thing to do.    
There are times when people of faith have been put in the list of terrorist before.
It is always seems that the people that hate faith in Jesus will always win.
Verse three and four says, "Look on me and answer, Lord my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death,  and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,” and my foes will rejoice when I fall."
King David was at the end of the struggle with the possibility of death.  He realized that God was his only hope. God allows hard times so we can know that God is our only deliverance. 
Many people wanted King David to be dead.
There are groups that want to kill all the Christians in the Middle East. There are groups in India that want Christians to be killed. There are groups in the United States that want the church to be ended because they took a stand on gay marriage. They planted people in the churches so they could have the IRS tax exemption taken away and the media slanders the church all the time.
Verse five says, "But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation."
David knew that God was real and the he would be safe because he in the Lord's hand. We must know that, too.
In the end of the day, no matter if the government, group and other entity are after a person of faith. The truth is God will protect the person of faith.
Verse six says, "I will sing the Lord’s praise, for he has been good to me."
King David was feeling good, again. The secret is that he took his emotions to God and he was happy again.
I have learned this from my friends that needs to talk about something a couple days then after all the talking, the issue will be better.
We need a good friend to talk to and God is our best friend.
Do you know the Lord? Talk to Him. 
If you don't like the Bible or God then see that God is good. We all need Jesus and I pray that you will realize that someday.
